Happy New Year from Blackburn Farm!
An old friend once told me that her family spent New Year’s Day leafing through seed catalogs and planning their spring garden. As the child of city folk, this was as wonderfully exotic to me as an African safari, or an expedition to the Antarctic. It became a bucket list item of sorts.
Starting a farm business during a pandemic has given us so many opportunities to start new family traditions. Today, a bright, brand new day, we start with this one. Here’s to fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and flowers. Here’s to fertile soil and the right amount of sun and rain. Here’s to hope. We welcome you, 2021, with open arms!
